QUOTE FROM MICHAEL ARDEN

“Working with Cami on PARADE at both City Center and on Broadway was a true delight. Her passion for theatre is only rivaled by her ceaseless curiosity and rigorous work ethic as a dramaturg. Our production would not have enjoyed the success it did without her keen and thoughtful contributions.”

About Cami

Cami Rose Hancock is a dramaturg & collaborator based in New York City. Originally from East Lansing, Michigan, she holds an MFA in Theatre (Dramaturgy concentration) from Columbia University School of the Arts and a BA in Arts and Humanities from Michigan State University.

Previously, Cami served as the Dramaturg and Assistant to Alfred Uhry for the 2023 Tony-Award winning Broadway & New York City Center revival of PARADE directed by Michael Arden.

Cami approaches her dramaturgy work with a particular attention to character development—operating from the belief that characters are the window through which audiences are able to discover new information about their own lives.

Cami is passionate about creating theatre in a safe and inclusive way for all involved and believes these crucial components in a working environment directly impact the audience’s enjoyment of a production, which was also the topic of her Graduate thesis.

Cami is a member of the Literary Manager and Dramaturgs of the Americas.
